Direct to Wall Soundproofing

Meets building regulations but where space permits, choose a wider solution from the slimline soundproofing wall solutions to attain even higher wall noise reduction.
Wall soundproofing with Phonewell sound insulation direct to wall

Direct to Wall Solution 27.5mm - 30mm

Application
: Best slimline performance, for absolute minimal loss of living space where the following wider options are not possible, e.g. remedial solution to meet building regulations.

Construction
(Brick or Block Wall):
- wall with or without existing plaster or plasterboard.
- 15mm Phonewell® Acoustic Insulation.
- 12.5mm or 15mm sound resistant plasterboard.

Materials List (available from our stockists)
- Phonewell® acoustic insulation (1200mm x 800mm x 15mm)
- sound resistant plasterboard (2400mm x 1200mm x 12.5/15mm)
- adhesive foam and foam gun (approx. coverage per can is 15m²)
- secondary 6mm hammer fixings

Instructions: (have you considered Flanking Noise?)
1. Make existing wall sound by removing any loose material.
2. Bond Phonewell® to existing wall with a quick setting adhesive foam butting panels closely. Do not leave any gaps. See Cutting Phonewell.
3. Bond plasterboard to Phonewell® with a quick setting adhesive foam, being careful to stagger joints and leaving a 5mm perimeter gap around floor, walls and ceiling. Optionally add second layer of plasterboard.
4. Secure plasterboard to wall with a few secondary mechanical hammer fixings, do not over tighten.
5. Seal 5mm perimeter gaps with flexible mastic or acoustic sealant.
6. Tape and seal all plasterboard joints and fill screw heads.
7. Fit skirting boards ensuring no contact with the floor – leave a 2mm gap.
